ARDCO was a Distributor in the Dallas, Texas area in the 1950s. After WWII many fine quality figurines and other china or porcelain pieces were imported from Japan. Usually there is a label or sticker, which reads “ARDCO fine quality, Dallas, made in Japan.” I have not been able to find a history of this ARDCO company, which apparently is no longer in business. I believe that most of their pieces are from the 50s and perhaps 1960s.

#CP6- 4 Plate from Painting, "The Age of Innocence, Artist Sir Joshua Reynolds 1723-1792, with Beehive Mark, 8" diameter.
Vintage Plate.of a barefoot girl sitting on the ground. I remember seeing prints of this portrait in the 30s or 40s . It was very popular at that time along with "Pinkie" and "The Blue Boy". This sweet young girl is enjoying the Spring breeze and appears to be day dreaming. I believe this plate is by Hummel or Goebel because it has the blue 3 tier beehive mark on the back. The painting has a texture you can feel and a fringe like gold trim. There are two specks and a light line which look like slight mfg. imperfections. No chips, cracks or hairlines. The color and detail is fantastic. This is a wonderful plate to add to your vintage artist collection.
